    This storm was from the South Indian Ocean back in 1982. We didn't have a geostationary satellite over the Indian Ocean until the late 1990s. That's why the images are so pixelated, the satellite is looking out its peripheral vision (#limb).

    It might have developed an eye, but we'll never know because the satellite might not have been able to peer down into from that angle.
