Hard to see

  • Grimms7 by Grimms7

I love this project, but one thing that makes it difficult is that I can't see much geography. Geography spells a huge part in these systems and if only I could see a land mass I could predict or at least forecast whether a storm had the potential to develop.

I really am just used to looking a smaller scale images and seeing the whole picture...that is all my issue with the images is.

Can you see the storm points on the big map in the background? That usually helps me to determine where I'm looking at.

Based on what I read in the about page, I don't think we're forecasting here, but just answering questions based on current satellite image. How would knowing geography help determine the current situation?

Out in the ocean basins, not much, but near land or over land it might help inform your view as to whether its #shear #post-tropical or some other #land-interaction going on which might help decide which option to shoot for on the classification.
