Eye-Storm

  • kellz171 by kellz171

hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight to what the large amount of warmer clouds (Yellow, Orange, Red) means in terms of weather effects? Also any other important features of this image. #eye-storm
    Thank you

    Hi Kellz171,

This storm is definitely an eye storm. There are some cold clouds in immediate vicinity of eye but most clouds warm so may be early or late season storm with lower sea surface temperatures. The warm cloud slot to north may indicate one of two things either an eye-wall replacement cycle or (perhaps more likely) a dry air intrusion. Air to NW of storm may be dry so it may be encountering a hostile environment and about to basically collapse. If you look at the whole storm you'll be able to tell what happened next. Click on the image and then the storm name above it to get the full set of imagery for the storm ...
