Actually, looking at JMA weather maps it seems like it never had frontal characteristics, but still, would like to see that option.
I wish there were a way to accurately label subtropical systems. It starts extratropical, but became cut-off, and gained central convection.
IMD didn't start naming their storms until 2005. Before then they would assign number identities.
I believe there were three typhoons happening at the same time in the West Pacific at the time.Probably all spawned by the same system.
