Cyclone Center Talk

Using the Cyclone Center classification process on other plantary bodies.

Could the classification process on Cyclone Center be used to classify storms on other planets like Mars and Jupiter, or even those on moons with atmospheres like Titan?

Might we start doing that when we've finished the back-catalogue of earth-based storms (although I heard on here we're only 1/5 of the way through it, so that will be a while in the future I guess)?

Yes I've realised I spelled the title wrong but I can't correct it.

Hi wavewavewave, in theory you could use this for other planets indeed and, at least to first order, the processes apply similarly although whether tropical type analogues occur on other planets would be less certain. As you state we are a long way from done here.
