Geolocation errors

Just had a minor heart palpatation when the first image for a storm suggested it was in the S. Atlantic off Africa. I know there has been one (maybe 2) S Atl storms so I thought I'd won the megamillions and could retire gracefully to a tropical island (not impacted by cyclones obviously). Sadly, no such luck. Second image reverted back to SWPac so pretty sure the longitude is nixed by 180. The storm is Prema from 1983. The image is 50575943516bcb57170169ce_goe-7.png - the fact its GOES7 further augurs for a geolocation fix issue. Perhaps a sanity check given the satellite FOV domain could catch such issues? Particularly if they are simply a case of being 180 out?
